Large Sheriff’s Office From Florida Visits Guernsey County to Review Cloud-Based CAD

Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently visited Guernsey County to demo SOMA Global. SOMA Global is the first cloud-based emergency CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system to go live in Ohio which was recently implemented by the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office as a continued goal to provide faster and more robust emergency dispatching service to the residents of Guernsey County. Sheriff Paden and his staff performed a demo of the system to employees of Polk County. On hand to welcome Polk County Sheriff’s Office was Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden and County Commissioners Skip Gardner and Ron Gombeda.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency serving Polk County, Florida. Polk County is the fourth largest county in the state, with approximately 2,010 total square miles, and is the ninth most populated county with an estimated population of 646,989. Polk County is comprised of seventeen municipalities, the largest being Lakeland, and is located in Central Florida, with Tampa to the west and Orlando to the east.
