Sheriff Jeffrey Paden says that his office received a 9-1-1 call at approx. 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning August 23rd from a female reporting that her friend had just been shot while the two were attempting to summon assistance for their vehicle that had become disabled along a Kimbolton area roadway. The female , was unable to give dispatchers the name of the road due to not being familiar with the area. Dispatchers, using the enhanced 9-1-1 system, were able to obtain exact GPS coordinates and direct responding deputies to her.
Deputies, located a male , later identified as Alexander Anderson, age 29 of Newark lying in the roadway unresponsive with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. United Ambulance personnel arrived a short time later and determined the male was deceased. At that time Sheriff’s detectives along with BCI Agents and the County Coroner responded to the scene.
Sheriff Paden said that his Investigators continue to process evidence, and interview individuals and that the case remains under investigation at this time.
